Statement to the Outlook from Small Town Pride in reply to our request –

Small Town Pride takes the concerns of parents very seriously, and we have since our very first drag show. Our organization has been intentional in creating a strong relationship with the queen we partner with, and ensuring they understand our event is open to all ages and our expectations for the show to be family friendly. Drag is just like any other form of art, yes there are sexually explicit drag shows and there are family friendly drag shows… one can exist without the other!

According to Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel.talking with WCSM after the meeting…that according to law director George Moore it still falls under the 1st amendment

The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Hazel went on to say that it does not seem to violate any certain laws regarding children or juveniles under 18.
