(4-29-23) Deputies and medics were dispatched at 8:40 a.m. on initial reports of a two-vehicle crash on State Route 118 and Horatio-Harris Creek Road, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation said Khalia Smith (28) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on Horatio-Harris Creek Road and came to a stop at the intersection of State Route 118. She then failed to yield the right-of-way and hit a gray 2016 Ford Focus going northbound on State Route 118.

Medics transported the driver of the Ford Focus, Anne Christian (56)of Ansonia, to Wayne Hospital for minor injuries along with her passenger Edward Tucker (47) of Ansonia.

Sara Smith (43) of Fort Wayne, was a passenger in the Ford Focus and was transported by medics to Wayne Hospital for minor injuries.

Khalia Smith was not hurt.

Mutual aid was provided by Greenville Fire and Greenville Township Fire and Rescue.

The crash remains under investigation.
