(4-12-23) At least one person has been confirmed as passing away after a crash was reported to Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies around 8am this morning at Botkins Road and Morris-Rose Road in Jackson Township.

A 2009 Chevy Malibu was heading eastbound on Botkins Road. At the intersection of Botkins Rd. and Morris Rose Rd., the driver of the Malibu ran the stop sign and struck a John Deere utility vehicle that was heading southbound on Morris Rose Rd..

The driver of the John Deere, identified as Darren T. Argabright (50) of Jackson Center, was ejected through the windshield and was found deceased in the southeast field.

The driver of the Malibu was identified as Kateland Elaine Heard (28) of Dayton.

Heard was transported to Wilson Health with a possible head injury.
