(3-7-23) The Grand Marshal for this year’s St. Henry’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be Jim Lachey.

Lachey graduated from St. Henry HS in 1981 after earning 11 varsity letters, starting center on the 1979 State Champion basketball team, and he still holds the school record in Shot Put by almost 7 feet.

Lachey caught the interest of Ohio States Wood Hayes during his senior season in St.Henry and went on to play for the Buckeyes from 1981-1984, where he earned All American honors.

Lachey was the 12th pick overall in the first round of 1985 NFL draft. He won a Super Bowl as one of the legendary Washington Redskin’s Hogs. He was voted a three time All-Pro and Three time Pro-Bowl selection.

Lachey and his family have made their home in the Columbus area where he can currently be heard across the globe on the Ohio State Radio Network as the game analysist and color commentary for all things OSU Buckeye football.
