(10-4-22) Robert Looney (31) of Mendon has been arrested on misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing, assault and unlawful restraint.

Looney is accused of assaulting an unnamed woman by grabbing her, throwing her on the bed and attempting to suffocate her and biting her thumb.

The woman was not allowed to leave the residence and he took her cell phone so she could not call for help.

Looney threatened to kill the victim by “slitting her throat and watching her bleed out”.

He is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center on a $5,000 bond pending a Celina Municipal Court appearance tomorrow 10-5-22 at 1pm.
