7/21/2022 Media Release from the Lima Police Department:
On Monday, July 18, 2022 at approximately 8:19pm, officers from the Lima Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Harrison in reference to an injury accident.
Upon arrival, officers located one year old Niomi Ward suffering from life threatening injuries. Niomi was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle, Jeremy Callhoun (34) of Lima, was located at the scene of the accident with the vehicle. Calhoun was placed under arrest for unrelated parole violations.
No charges against Calhoun have yet been filed as the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
