(7-18-22) Starting the school year with the necessary supplies can be difficult for a financially strapped family. Setting aside enough funds to purchase all the supplies their children need in time for the start of school can be challenging. With help from individuals, churches, and businesses from all over Mercer County, Our Home Family Resource Center helps income-eligible Mercer County families with school-age children obtain the school supplies needed to begin the year with excitement and confidence.

Last year, 329 students from seven different Mercer County school systems were assisted. To support the 2022 Back-To-School Supply program, you can donate any of the following items: book bags (new), solid color pocket folders, tissues, glue bottles, classic Crayola markers, Crayola colored pencils, Crayola 24-count crayons, zipper pencil pouches, wide rule loose leaf paper, large pink erasers, 5” and 7” pointed scissors, Expo wide black dry erase markers, highlighters, and earbuds. Monetary donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase items necessary to meet the needs of applicants.

Donations will be accepted through August 4th and may be dropped off at Our Home during business hours Monday through Thursday. Any online purchases can be shipped directly to Our Home Family Resource Center, 117 W Fayette St, Celina, OH 45822. Volunteers will sort and pack the donations for pick-up by families at Celina First Church of God on August 11th.
