(7-14-22) Just days before the 2022 Celina Lake Festival long-time committee member Jerry Deitsch passed away.
He is remembered by many of friends and colleagues on Facebook –
Celina and Mercer County lost a very good man today. For those of you who knew Jerry Deitsch , you will surely agree that Jerry was one of the kindest and calmest people you could ever know. I was very fortunate to have worked with Jerry on the Celina Lake Festival Committee for 25 plus years. Jerry’s dedication as part of the Lake Festival pageant committee and as long time Lake Festival treasurer was steller. Jerry also served Mercer County citizens as a deputy sheriff for many years. Thank you for all of you service to our community Jerry. We are all going to miss you Jerry. Rest in peace our dear friend.

I was Jerry’s vice chair for the Lakefest ’98, he took me in and was a fantastic mentor for many years when we were committee members together. Quiet, kind and always there, RIP Jerry job well done.

You were a great man Jerry Deitsch and you will be missed by so many! I’ll miss our monthly chats about you leaving bank statements and bills at the office for me. I hope we can make you proud with the best pageant and Lake Festival from your new chair, the best seat in the house!
