(6-29-22) Former Dayton mayor and current Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nan Whaley said Wednesday afternoon that her first focus if elected would be to lead an effort to enshrine abortion rights in the Ohio Constitution.
“I believe firmly that this is a pro-choice state. If Gov. DeWine and the legislature are going to push their extreme, anti-women agenda, it is time for voters to fight back. If they’re going to take a right away from women by banning abortion, we’re going to take it directly to the people and say, ‘Enough is enough.’”
Whaley will face current Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) in November’s general election.
