(4-28-22) Brenda Marcum (68) was found dead inside a house after a fire in the 400 block of East Main Street in Greenville this morning.
Greenville Fire Department crews were called on a report of a fire at the East Main Street house around 1:40 a.m. and found a room and the contents of the room on fire .
Crews located Marcum inside the room and she was later pronounced dead. Her cause and manner of death have not been officially determined and are official are waiting for the findings of the Darke County Coroner’s Office.
The fire was quickly extinguished and damage to the house is estimated at around $10,000 and was contained to the room where it broke out.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The incident is being investigated by the Greenville Fire Department, Greenville Police Department, and the Division of the State Fire Marshall.
