(4-5-22) Andrew Jones (19) Findlay and Kassidi Krzykwa (23) Kalamazoo, Michigan were killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle traffic accident on Interstate-75 near Cygnet.
According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers arrived at the scene shortly before 10 p.m. and observed approximately six involved vehicles, with two fully engulfed in flames.
It was determined that a silver 2018 Chevy Malibu was traveling southbound and struck a black 2003 Dodge Dakota in the rear. The Dodge then traveled across the center median and struck at least two vehicles in the northbound lane.
The driver of the at-fault vehicle, Nicholas Luderman (24) Napoleon, is being held at the Wood County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. He is facing charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol as well as aggravated vehicular homicide.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
Kryzkwa’s passengers Anthony and Leti Rastigue were both thrown from their vehicles with life-threatening injuries. The fourth damaged vehicle’s driver, John Hisey from Michigan, was taken to Wood County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries along with his wife and two children. The fifth vehicle’s driver Alyssa Thompson (27) was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
