(3-15-22) Mary Lou Hoelscher (19) of Maria Stein was pulled over on State Route 274 near Township Road 94 by Washington Township Police in Logan County for a speeding violation on Monday at around 2:05pm.

During the stop the officer reportedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Hoelscher admitted there was drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers also found a handgun and loaded magazine in Hoelscher’s purse.

Hoelscher was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail on a 4th degree felony charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
