(11-16-21) As the holiday season nears, kids in every household will be enjoying brand new toys and playthings. But, not everyone in our country will be so fortunate.

Mr. Minnich’s Civics classes at Parkway high school will be running a used toy donation for Afghan refugee children at Camp Atterbury near Indianapolis. Although the government has provided necessities for all of the refugees, there are a multitude of children there with no toys to enjoy. From December 1-3 & 6-8 from 8 a.m to 3 p.m, the Parkway civics classes will gather used toys from drop-off locations in each office around the school. A few examples of toys to look for in your own home are sports balls or equipment, jump ropes, plastic animals or dinosaurs, and stuffed animals.

The team behind the drive asks for gently used toys- purchasing new toys is not necessary.
