CELINA – (11-4-21) On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine for vaccination against COVID-19 for children ages 5 to 11 years. The Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 vaccine is administered as a two-dose primary series, three weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms).
The MCHD has received the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine and will begin administering the vaccine tomorrow, Friday, November 5, 2021. For more information regarding the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine or to schedule an appointment, please call 419-586-3251, Option 2.
Parents or guardians should bring their child’s insurance card(s) and a completed COVID-19 registration form to their appointment. The registration form is available to pick up at the MCHD office or on the MCHD website, http://www.mchdohio.org.
