(4-21-21) WHIO TV Channel 7 in Dayton is looking into parents anger with the Bethel Local Schools. Coldwater native and former Ft. Recovery Superintendent Justin Firks is the current superintendent at Bethel.

WHIO said parents were angered to learn about allegations of sexual misconduct involving a district employee in a video on social media before they heard about it from the district. The video was placed on You Tube by the group “Dads Against Predators”.

According to the WHIO story district parents were angered over the actions taken by the district and the time it took them to contact law enforcement.

In a statement from Bethel Local Schools Superintendent, Justin Firks

“The Bethel Local School District took immediate and decisive action to contact law enforcement to open an investigation due to a complaint made to school officials alleging employee misconduct … it is our policy is to place the employee in question on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.”

The employee, the name has not been released, in question has not yet been charged as the investigation by Miami County law enforcement continues.
