(3-10-21) Mercer Health has recently received the 2020 Energy to Care Award from the American Society of Health Care Engineering (ASHE). The Energy to Care Award honors health care facilities that reduce energy consumption by 10% in a single year or 15% over two years.
Dave Uhlenhake, Director of Plant Operations at Mercer Health, shares-
“Energy conservation is a continued long-term goal of mine and the organization. Over 20 years of energy conservation, including HVAC and lighting upgrades, has led to a 33% reduction of electrical consumption per square foot at the hospital. Most of the upgrades were partially funded with energy rebates, and installed by the Hospital Plant Operations staff, resulting in additional savings to the organization.”
In addition, Jon Dingledine, CFO at Mercer Health, shares-
Dave and his team have worked tirelessly to reduce energy consumption throughout our facilities. These efforts will have a lasting impact on the organization and we’re proud of this accomplishment.”
