(2-26-21) At about 4:55 p.m. this afternoon, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Lamarr of the Wapakoneta Post was conducting a traffic stop on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-75 in Auglaize County near milepost 116.

Two vehicles, a semi and a Jeep SUV, were approaching the area of the traffic stop and both attempted to merge into the same lane. Both drove onto the shoulder trying to avoid each other and would hit the patrol car. Lamarr was not in his car at the time of crash, he was talking with the driver of the vehicle he had stopped.

Gerald D. Pestana (53) of Middletown, driver of the semi, was cited for assured clear distance. The Jeep SUV was driven by Rachel M. Ott (24) of Beavercreek. All three vehicles received damage and had to be towed.

The incident forced the right lane of the interstate to closed for about two hours.
