Toledo Police Officer Killed In Standoff

(1-19-21) A Toledo police officer, Brandon Stalker (24), has been killed in the line of duty, he is the second officer to die in the line of duty.

Stalker died Monday from a single gunshot after both he and a suspect in the arson and vandalism of Rosary Cathedral were shot during the standoff.  Stalker, was providing perimeter security during the incident.

According to a Brock News Alliance report – Toledo Municipal Court documents show a pending vandalism charge for Christopher Harris (27) with an address in the 2200 block of Fulton Street. The warrant document states he “spray painted in large letters ‘Jesus is Black’ and ‘Black’ numerous times on the brick wall and the brick structure of the Rosary Cathedral… causing significant damage.”

Toledo is heartbroken tonight over the loss of Toledo Police Officer Brandon Stalker, who was shot and killed in the line of duty while protecting its citizens. A fantastic Officer and a proud new dad, his loss will be felt forever. We will never forget his service and sacrifice.

Stalker leaves behind a fiancé, a young daughter and a 3-month old son.
