COLUMBUS (8-24-20) – State Representative John Becker (R-Union Township, Clermont County) announced today that he has drafted ten articles of impeachment against Governor Mike DeWine and is asking all 98 of his House colleagues to join him in ending the madness.
DeWine’s Press Secretary, Dan Tierney, released a statement-
“Governor DeWine is focused on saving lives during the pandemic. He is focused on helping the economy and getting Ohioans back to work. That is what he is focused on. Not this.”
The public can easily find and contact their State Representative at ImpeachDeWine.com. The contact form contains sample language for constituents to send to their respective State Representatives to ask them to sign onto the legislation as co-sponsors.
House Democrat Emilia Sykes, D-Akron –
“Instead of working to rebuild the public’s trust or calling the House back from summer recess to address the very real public health and economic crises Ohio currently faces by focusing on protecting small businesses and slowing the spread of COVID-19, Republicans continue to fight one another over political power.”
While the General Assembly has attempted to work with the Governor, he has vetoed Senate Bill (SB) 55. He has threatened to veto other reasonable legislation such as SB 1 and House Bill (HB) 618.
Governor DeWine has violated the Ohio and United States Constitutions, as well as multiple sections of the Ohio Revised Code. Among his abuses of power, he meddled in the conduct of a presidential primary election and arbitrarily closed certain businesses, while allowing other businesses to remain open. He later instituted a statewide mask mandate, implementing that requirement as a condition of employment, making Ohio a hostile work environment. The mandate also extended to congregants at places of worship, forcing citizens to choose between worshiping their God and worshiping at the altar of unbridled government. Many Ohioans find the mask mandate offensive, degrading, humiliating, and insulting. There is also evidence that masks can be hazardous to one’s health. Gov. DeWine doubled down when he expanded the mandate to our school-age children, who are less susceptible to COVID-19.
Becker made the following statement:
I kept holding out hope that we wouldn’t get to this place. For months and months, I’ve been hearing the cries of my constituents and of suffering people from every corner of Ohio. They keep screaming, “DO SOMETHING!” They are hurting. Their businesses are declining and depreciating. Their jobs have vanished. The communities that have sustained their lives are collapsing, and becoming shells of what they once were.
Living in fear, many have turned to drugs and yes, even suicide, to end or tolerate the unbearable pain inflicted by the governor upon their livelihoods, and the damage caused by his unraveling of the fabric of Ohio. It is long past time to put an end to government gone wild.
With deaths and hospitalizations from COVID-19 flattened, the Governor continues to press his boot on the throat of Ohio’s economy. Due to the unilateral actions of Governor DeWine, a growing number of businesses have failed and continue to fail. Millions of frustrated, exasperated, and suffering Ohioans are relying on the General Assembly to take control and end their government-driven affliction.
Gubernatorial recall elections are not permitted in Ohio and removal by complaint is too arduous and impractical for the citizenry to navigate as a process for taking back their government. The only other option is impeachment.
Articles of impeachment cannot be vetoed, and require a majority (50 votes) in the Ohio House of Representatives and then a two-thirds majority (22 votes) in the Ohio Senate for conviction and removal from office.
In addition to ImpeachDeWine.com, constituents can find and contact their state representatives at OhioHouse.gov. Only massive public demand for Governor DeWine’s resignation or impeachment can save what is left of Ohioans’ confidence in their public officials.
How stupid is this! You people want to impeach Dewine but the clown in the White house that btw was built by slaves is okay with all of you?? I remember the clown declaring a pandemic & the governor issued mandates because he is the governor & wants to protect the citizens of Ohio. Damn If he did & damn if he didn’t. you all should be calling for an impeachment on the orange faced, racist, bigot, asshole clown in the White House not Dewine.

Can we add to the bill to take away mandate wearing seatbelts. It is a right and my choice. It may save lives and insurance companies medical expenses. The mandated sanitation sewer was forced onto our previous generations lets get rid of it also. I like the freedom of youth whip it out when you got to go. Then the driving under the influence should go to we are adults and should accept stupidity and arrogance even in politics

You got it backwards. We NEED big government in every aspect of our lives. From cradle to grave, we need the nanny state to hold our hands to tell us when our soft drinks are too large or the amount of our sugar and/or salt intake is too high and other health related decisions and issue mandates accordingly. Tobacco and alcohol are very bad and should also be banned. Gambling is so terrible that all forms of gambling including state lotteries and all types of 50/50 drawings should be banned. 2nd amendment be damned as guns kill people just as forks make people obese so both need to be banned by big government for the sake of our well-being. As for private businesses, we need big government to pick its winners and losers because we as business owners and citizens are incapable of doing that. If any of these mandates violate the Ohio and/or the United States Constitutions, so be it! Big Government will always know better than its citizenry.
