(7-26-20) Mercer Health and the Mercer County Health District caution the community to please be aware that criminals are attempting to exploit the COVID-19 situation through a variety of scams.
- Be suspicious of any unexpected mail, calls, emails or texts.
- Be aware of unsolicited requests for your personal and medical information.
- If you suspect COVID-19 health care fraud, report it immediately online or call 800-HHS-TIPS (800-447-8477).

Locally, tests are only done at Mercer Health’s COVID-19 testing sites and require a physician’s order. Communication, such as test results, should be provided by an authorized source – such as your physician who ordered the test, the health department or Mercer Health. If you are suspicious of any communication, ask for clarifying information and report suspected fraud.
