(6-6-20) Beginning Monday, June 8, 2020, the following guidelines will be initiated for visitors at Mercer Health’s Mercer County Community Hospital.
Visitor Guidelines
- No visitors under age 18.
- Visitors must stay in the room with the patient. Waiting rooms will be unavailable for use.
- Limit one (1) visitor for the duration of stay.
- Visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times.
- No visitors are allowed in the hospital from 6 p.m. – 7 a.m. overnight, unless accompanying a maternity patient.
- Patients with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19: No visitors allowed at this time.
- ICU & Acute Care Units: (1) adult visitor allowed for the duration of stay.
- Pediatrics: (2) adult visitors allowed for the duration of stay.
- Surgery: (1) adult visitor/support person allowed.
- Childbirth Center: (1) support person allowed for the duration of stay.
- Patient Facing End-of-Life: 1 visitor allowed. Clergy is also permitted after proper screening.
- Patients with significant disabilities: (1) support person.
Visitor Screening at Hospital
- All visitors to the hospital will be subject to screening for symptoms and international travel or known exposure history.
- Visitors will be asked to leave the facility if they have had symptoms of the seasonal flu or COVID-19, such as shortness of breath, cough, fever, chills, loss of sense of smell/taste, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches or diarrhea, in the past 48 hours or known exposures in the last 14 days.
- If the visitor is a driver for an outpatient, they will be asked to wait in their car until the patient’s appointment is completed.
- Visitors must wash their hands, or use hand sanitizer, before and after leaving rooms and hospital buildings.
- Inpatient Visitors MUST enter :
- On the West side of the hospital by using Entrance #3: West Entrance or Entrance #2: South Entrance, and will be stopped near the West Registration for screening.
- These entrances at the hospital remain closed to the public:
- Entrance #4: The Cedar Table Entrance
- Entrance #1: East Entrance
