(5-19-20) The Mercer County Health District (MCHD) wants to recognize the community support received during this COVID-19 pandemic. During these unprecedented times, it is comforting to know members of the community want to assist.
The Celina Rotary has given the MCHD a generous monetary donation to purchase items for care kits for people who have COVID-19 and lack basic supplies needed during isolation. Care kit items include educational information, masks, hand soap, hand sanitizer, dish soap, paper towels, Clorox disinfecting spray, and thermometers. Each care kit will be customized to the needs of the individual.
Pax Machine Works, Inc. has fabricated and donated 1,000 face shields and 300 ear guards for Mercer County first responders, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
The MCHD has also received an abundant number of cloth face masks from individuals and groups across the county and beyond.
Our community is fortunate to be made up of people like those highlighted above and many others who embrace the idea that we are truly in this together, and do what they can to help out their fellow Ohioans.
