(4-27-20) Mercer Health’s Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness is now offering a free meal planning service for the community. The menus, developed by Registered Dietitians at the Mercer Health Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness, use MyPlate guidelines and include fruits and vegetables, fiber and healthy fats and nutrient dense foods. Meals include shelf-stable items and can be customized, based on your needs.
Karen Homan, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist for the Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness
“In times of stress and uncertainty, it can be difficult to make even simple decisions – like what to eat. Good nutrition is an important part of staying healthy and maintaining a strong immune system, but applying that knowledge when grocery shopping and deciding what to make for dinner can be difficult under normal circumstances, and especially during such uncertain times.”
The program includes a weekly menu for breakfast, lunch, supper and snack, weekly grocery shopping lists (for a family of four) and recipes for weekly menu items for four weeks. From there, you can repeat the menu series and choose to include the meals that your family enjoyed most.
To sign up for the free meal planning service, simply fill out an online form and a Registered Dietitian will contact you with your first weekly meal plan within 5 business days. If you have any questions, please contact the Center for Healthy Weight & Wellness at 419-678-8446 or email mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org.
