(3-4-20) Early this morning just before 1:00 AM, Celina Police Department officers were dispatched to 906 N. Walnut St. on a report of a male at the residence with multiple arrest warrants for theft. The male, Nathan Williams (28) was wanted for area thefts at retail stores.
When officers made contact at the residence Williams, climbed through a window and fled the residence on foot. Another resident, Kayla Lovelace (24), intentionally misdirected officers, telling them Williams was not there.
Celina Police officers, with the assistance of deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Coldwater PD’s Sgt. Kevin Wynk and his K9 partner Franko, searched the area for Williams.
A citizen flagged officers down and directed them to an area in the 900-block of N. Sugar St, where they had seen Lovelace. Williams and Lovelace were found hiding in a garage. Williams was found in possession of three hypodermic syringes.
Williams was incarcerated in the Mercer County Jail for the three outstanding warrants as well as additional charges of Obstructing Official Business, Criminal Trespass, and Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments. All misdemeanors.
Lovelace was incarcerated in the Mercer County Jail for Obstructing Justice and Criminal Trespass, both misdemeanors.
