Celina, Ohio – January 6, 2020, Celina, OH — Celina Insurance Group and its employees have established a scholarship fund with the Mercer County Civic Foundation. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to three 2020 high school graduates who are pursuing a degree in an insurance industry-related major (Actuarial Science, Business, Communications, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Pre-Law, Risk Management & Insurance, etc.).
Eligible students must either reside or graduate from a high school in Mercer or Auglaize County or be a child/grandchild of a current Celina Insurance Group employee (no county constraint). In the spring of 2021, each scholarship recipient will be eligible for the Don Montgomery Memorial Renewal Scholarship in the amount of $500 if the guidelines set forth have been met by the recipient.
Top applicants will be determined on the basis of a written essay according to the topic indicated on the application form. The selected winners will be notified in late spring.
If a scholarship winner enrolls in six or more credit hours during each semester at Wright State University – Lake Campus, the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) will award the recipient a matching scholarship for an additional $1,000. WOEF will also match the Don Montgomery Memorial Renewal Scholarship in the amount of $500 in 2021, if the recipient qualifies.
