(12-31-19) A major power outage has hit the Mercer County area, DP&L transmission lines that serve their customers and municipal utilities are seeing this outage all due to a substation issue.

The DPL planned outage for Celina around 9 tonight should not impact us.
Note: Update 530pm (12-31-19) – Celina power outage will be at 9pm and should not last more than 1 hour.
Note – 5pm (12-31-19) some of the issues with the sub-station problem in Celina have been resolved by DP&L.

MERCER CO SHERIFF: There is a large power outage that is effecting a large portion of Mercer County. Please contact your power company for further info.
Our (911) dispatcher center is aware of a very large and wide spread power outage that is affecting Mercer and Auglaize County. Please do not call 911 to report power outage.

Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel:
“In addition to surrounding communities, Celina is going to have a power outage later this evening for a maximum of 1.5 hours while DP&L bypasses a failing switch in their substation that feeds Celina.”

Although Celina currently has power, we will have an emergency power outage later this evening for a maximum of 1.5 hours while DP&L creates a bypass. Our entire service area will be out.
