(10-21-19) At approximately 5:43 a.m. this morning, Darke County Deputies were dispatched to State Route 49 near US Route 127 in reference to a disabled vehicle in the roadway. While Deputies were in route to the scene, dispatch received a call that the disabled vehicle had been struck by another vehicle. Greenville Twp. Fire and Greenville Twp. Rescue were then dispatched to the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Dodge 3500, driver by Steven Uhlenhake (64) of St Henry, Oh, was southbound on US Route 127. Uhlenhake exited at the US Route 127 at the off ramp toward SR 49 and attempted to turn south on SR 49 and became disabled in the roadway. Before Deputies could arrive at the scene, Uhlenhake’s vehicle was struck by a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Linda Crowe (67) of Greenville.
Crowe was transported to Wayne Healthcare by Greenville Twp. Rescue with minor injuries. Uhlenhake was uninjured in the incident.
