(7-22-19) On July 22, 2019 officers from the Celina Police Department were working a joint narcotics operation with HIT, the Heroin Interdiction Team, which is comprised of units from the Celina P.D., Coldwater P.D. and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. At about 1:30PM the team conducted a surveillance and developed probable cause to stop a black Nissan being driven by Trenton Slife (22) of St. Marys.
As officers approached Slife could be seen rummaging through the car. He was very uncooperative with police, refusing to show his operator’s license to the officer. He was arrested for obstructing official business and his car was searched first by a Mercer County Sheriff’s K-9 and then by officers. Over 50 grams of Methamphetamine was located in the car.
Trenton Slife was taken to the Mercer County Jail and additional charge of possession of drugs (bulk quantity) , a felony of the second degree was filed. He is being held on $500,000 bond, subject to 10%.
