(12-17-18) On Sunday, 12/16/18 Celina officers, Ptl. Jacob Stolly and Ptl. Nathan Miller conducted a traffic stop on 59 year old William Michael Hathaway of rural Celina. During the course of that stop the officers located a personal use amount of meth. With that information they were able to develop probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the residence at 440 Touvelle St., Lot 20. The search warrant which was sought with the aid of the office of the Mercer Coounty Prosecutor, Matthew K. Fox and signed by Judge Kathryn Speelman, included illegal drugs and related items.
Upon execution of the search warrant officers immediately located scales consistent with the weighing and sales of illegal drugs. Orlando Candelaria Jr. (37), was inside and found to be in possession of suspected meth. An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized from him.
As officers conducted the search they located approximately 14 grams of suspected meth, assorted pills, more scales, syringes, assorted pipes consistent with illegal drug use. Counterfeit US currency was also located inside the trailer.
Orlando Candelaria is being held in Mercer Co. Jail on possession of drugs, a felony of the 5th degree. Also present in the residence and arrested were 57 year old Jose Luis Rodriguez for endangering children, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree, 31 year old Thomas Searles for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the 4th degree and 39 year old Donna Springer for obstructing official business a misdemeanor of the second degree and endangering children a misdemeanor of the 1st degree. All are from Celina. Both Springer and Rodriguez had their minor children present at the residence.
