According to Treasurer Rita Schmit, the Celina Kiwanis should have a record profit from this year’s Lake Festival stand. Speaking at the August 8 board meeting, she credited the club’s success to good weather over the weekend and a large Friday night crowd. President J.T. Irmscher thanked members for their hard work. The club also thanks the following volunteers who assisted with the stand: Ralph Schmit, Jim Perts, Gadge Redman, Avery Metzcar, Megan Tester. This was the first year the club had a car in the Lake Festival parade.

In other business at the board meeting, members discussed ways to raise the chapter’s presence in the parade and possible changes to next year’s menu. Childcare items were collected at the meeting to add to the donations made at the club’s Fun Night dinner. These were delivered to C.A.L.L. by Secretary Linda Goodwin. The Celina Kiwanis will sponsor the Mr. Potato Head Contest at the Mercer County Fair. Other upcoming events for the club are the Our Home Winter Warmth Day, the OSU/Michigan “Guess the Score” 50/50 drawing and the Reindog Breakfast and Parade.
