(6-24-18) The Darke County Humane Society has been successful in getting their first felony Animal Cruelty Conviction under the new Ohio Animal Cruelty Laws.
Robert Frazier (36) of Ansonia plead guilty last Thursday in Darke County Court on a fifth degree felony charge of animal cruelty after a dog was found frozen to death chained up outside with no food or water readily available behind Frazier’s residence (East Cross Street in Ansonia) in December 2017. The dog was removed from the scene and examined by a veterinarian to confirm the findings.
Frazier was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 16 days were credited for time served already and reported to the Darke County Jail on Friday (June 22) to serve the remaining 14 days. Frazier was also ordered to pay restitution, a Veterinarian Bill, and court costs and fines that were assessed.
