Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today his office is conducting an investigation into a fatal traffic accident. On March 16, 2018.Dispatch received numerous 911 calls, at 2:40 PM, regarding a traffic accident at US 127 and Brown Road.
Through the course of the investigation it was determined that a 2015 Isuzu box truck driven by Joshua Bruns, age 37, of New Bremen was northbound on US 127, and went left of center for an unknown reason.
The truck struck a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aaron Rose, age 40, of Celina, Ohio. The impact of the crash pushed the Chevrolet through the guard rail and the vehicle rolled onto its side. Mr. Rose was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by Mercer County Coroner Timothy Heinrichs.
Lutheran Air was called to the scene and transported Mr. Bruns to the Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Celina Squad and Fire Department, members of Mercer County MCERV and the Ohio Department of Transportation. This accident remains under investigation.
