(3-9-18) Last night at the Ohio School Boards Association’s Northwest Region Spring Conference held at Spencerville High School, the Celina City Schools and Celina Middle School were presented the Momentum Award for the 2nd consecutive year. This award is given only to those school buildings and school districts that attain Straight A’s on all of their value added scores on the district report card. Celina students have shown great gains in their achievement scores over the past two school years. Recognition for this outstanding academic achievement goes to all students, parents, community members, staff, and administration.
Accepting the award for Celina Middle School were Principal Ann Esselstein, and teachers Jackie Mertz and Ann Holdheide.
Accepting the award for Celina City Schools were Barb Vorhees, Board member, Tom Sommer, Treasurer and Dr. Ken Schmiesing, Superintendent.
