Celina, OH – Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that two Mercer County Sheriff’s Office deputies have just returned from Clark County, Nevada after picking up a subject who was wanted on a warrant from the Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Two deputies flew to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas and arrived late on Tuesday.  Early Wednesday morning,  deputies picked up Alan M. Fill at the Clark County Jail and flew back to the Dayton International Airport.  Mr. Fill was then transported back to the Mercer County Jail where he was incarcerated on a Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply with the conditions of a furlough.  He was booked into the jail shortly after 9:00pm.

This marks the second time that deputies have had to travel to pick up Mr. Fill.  This subject was previously picked up in Yavapai County, Arizona by Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies on September 15, 2017 for the same Mercer County Common Pleas Court case.  Mr. Fill was picked up and brought back on a Warrant on Indictment for charges of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Theft from a Person in a Protected Class.  This Indictment was issued by a Mercer County Grand Jury in July of 2017.

On November 6, 2017, Mr. Fill was granted a furlough by the court in this case and was ordered to reside at the Men’s House of Hope.  On November 21, 2017, that furlough was modified by the court to allow Mr. Fill to travel outside of the State of Ohio for a funeral.  Mr. Fill was ordered to return to the Men’s House of Hope before noon on November 24, 2017.  Mr. Fill never returned.
