IC wins

(2-9-18)  Immaculate Conception School 5th Grader Ryan Wibbenmeyer picks up  the Celina City Spelling Bee and classmate Jon Lutz was the runner-up. Other I.C. spellers included Bridget Fullenkamp, Maddie Fleck, and Jack McGohan.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee takes place May 27 to May 31 in Washington, D.C.

The 2017 Scripps National Spelling Bee winner was Ananya Vinay who correctly spelled the word marocain (a ribbed crepe fabric used in women’s clothing ) after the 20th championship round.

Vinay picked up the $40,000 first place prize over second-place Rohan Rajeev, in total their were 291 spellers at the finals.
