From the Mercer County Health Department:
Influenza is contagious. If you have symptoms, please stay home! Tamiflu will NOT prevent the spread of influenza. Tamiflu is an antiviral used to reduce the severity of the flu. Early treatment with Tamiflu is especially important for the elderly, the very young, people with certain chronic health conditions, and pregnant women. Most adults/children may be able to infect others beginning one day BEFORE symptoms develop and up to five days AFTER the onsite of illness! Call your healthcare provider for additional information on the flu.
Please continue to wash hands, cover coughs and sneezes, clean and clean again, and keep your children home when they are sick. They may return to school when they are 24 hours fever free (without medication).
Most of the hospitals in the Stateline area have restricted visitation plans, check before you decide visit.
