ST. MARYS, OH – A new pool at the campground at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park, located in Auglaize and Mercer counties, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be ready for the 2018 summer season.
In recent years, Grand Lake St. Marys State Park has received a number of improvements that have made camping and visiting the park more enjoyable:
- A new campground splash pad;
- 20 campsites that have been upgraded to full-service;
- A new pavilion and shower house in the campground; and
- Completion of the Little Chickasaw boat ramp.
The Ohio State Parks capital improvement projects, and others like them around the state, are made possible through the support of Governor John Kasich and the Ohio General Assembly. Ohio State Parks received an unprecedented $126.5 million for capital improvements to strengthen the infrastructure and modernize facilities in the previous capital budget.
More capital projects are scheduled or nearing completion across the state. Ohioans are encouraged to offer suggestions about where they would like to see improvements by filling out the capital project survey on the ODNR website at parks.ohiodnr.gov/improvements.
