(9-5-17) Cory Eischen, 40, of rural Celina, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison this morning in Mercer County Common Pleas Court in the death of 4-year old Jaxxon Baker in September of 2016.
Eischen was sentenced on several counts, including murder, he also pleaded guilty to child endangering, a second degree felony and to a third degree felony of domestic violence. The deal he agreed to was in exchange for dropping six charges, including aggravated murder.
By not having a jury trial Eischen avoided a possible death penalty conviction.
Eischen will have to serve the minimum of 15 years, when he will be age 55, before he would be eligible for a parole hearing.
