18-year-old Ryan Monahan of Greenville has been indicted on charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence following a shooting of a 16 year old girl with a .22 caliber rifle. The incident took place at 10:20 pm on June 9th near the softball diamonds at Stebbins Field on SR Ohio 49 just outside of Greenville.
Monahan was arrested Tuesday night and was arraigned on Wednesday, the judge has ordered that Monahan be placed on house arrest on an own recognizance bond.
According to earlybird.com a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for August 28th. Monahan could face up to 14 years in prison, three of which are mandatory for gun spec and fines of up to $25,000.
