Traffic Stop Results in Drug and Firearm Seizure
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 9:57 PM, an officer with the Celina Police Department conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and firearms.

While on patrol on East Market Street, Zac Nelson observed a red 2005 Chevrolet Cruze displaying South Carolina license plates. Patrolman Nelson initiated a traffic stop after observing a window tint violation.
During the course of the stop, Patrolman Nelson observed a handgun positioned between the driver’s seat and the door. The driver, 25-year-old Cesar Aldenis Garcia of Greer, South Carolina, was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine and a second firearm.
Garcia is being held in the Mercer County Jail on drug charges pending review of the Mercer County Prosecutor, Erin Minor. Additional charges are pending the review.
