Subject: Celina High School Principal
(3-9-26) Last week, I shared leadership assignments for the 2026–2027 school year, including the planned recommendation of Dr. Kat Childers as the next principal of Celina High School.
After communication was shared and her further reflection, Dr. Childers informed us that she will no longer be pursuing the position in Celina. While she would have brought proven experience and new ideas to our team, we respect her decision. She plans to pursue assistant superintendent and superintendent opportunities, which better align with her professional goals, and we wish her the best in these pursuits.
The district will now reopen the search for a high school principal for the 2026–2027 school year with refreshed postings on social accounts, including LinkedIn, Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA), and Dayton Consortium. Our commitment to Celina High School and our students remains our top priority. We will continue the process.
The remainder of the leadership alignments shared last week remain unchanged. I will continue to keep staff and our community informed as the process moves forward. Thank you for your continued support of Celina City Schools and the work we do each day on behalf of our students.
Sincerely,
Brooke Gessler, Superintendent
Celina City Schools
