On March 5, 2026, at approximately 8:30 am, the Randolph County 911 Center received a call of a Crash on US Highway 36 at Arba Pike East of Lynn, IN. Units from Lynn Fire Department and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded.

Initial investigation indicates V1, a Silver 2016 Buick Enclave, driven by Rosemarie Cowen Hartlage (78) from Lynn, IN, was southbound on Arba Pk at US HWY 36. After stopping at the stop sign, V1 pull into the path of V2, a Red 2014 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer driven by Jared Travis Hart (32) from Greenville, OH, that was eastbound on US HWY 36. The passenger side of V1 was struck by the front of V2 with both vehicles continuing east on 36 before coming to rest on the Highway.

Hart was treated for minor injuries.
Hartlage was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Randolph County Coroner’s Office.

Indiana State Police were contacted and conducted the crash reconstruction due to the involvement of the semi tractor.
