(2-21-26) A Friday night fatal crash claimed the life of Mark Bauman (50) of rural Geneva at around 7:35 p.m. in the area of State Road 18 and County Road 750 North in Jay County.

Bauman was driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado and was driving eastbound on State Road 18 when he crossovered into the westbound lane and collided with a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Amber R. Holloway (39) of rural Poneto, Indiana. 

Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage. Holloway was transported by helicopter to Lutheran Hospital with back and hip injuries.

Bauman was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries he suffered in the crash.
