Celina – (2-10-26) Ohio State University Extension Mercer County invites you to attend the new series “Fruit Gardening 101” that offers 4 sessions for the beginning gardener looking to learn how to grow and care for common fruit plants in the home garden. The series will be held on Wednesday nights during the month of March 2026 at the Mercer County Agriculture Center Conference Room. Sessions are open to the public, and participants can attend all the sessions or just those that appeal to them. Each session will cover planting basics, variety selection, and potential insect and disease issues for each individual fruit type grown.
Weekly topics include:
March 4 – Strawberries
March 11 – Apples
March 18 – Blackberries and Raspberries
March 25 – Grapes
Each session will start at 6PM and it is expected to last approximately one hour. These classes are free and open to all. The Mercer County Agriculture Center is located at 4978 Mud Pike, Celina. Please call the OSU Extension Mercer County Office at 419-586-2179 with any questions.
