(1-29-26) This week Officer Kobey Eaton was sworn in by the City of Decatur as a patrolman, bringing the Decatur Police Department ranks back to fully staffed.

Officer Eaton comes to the department from the Berne Police Department where he worked for just under a year.

Officer Eaton is a graduate of South Adams High School and resides in Decatur. He is also an Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduate as well as prior experience as a jail officer with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Eaton will now go through his field training with our training staff and will then soon be patrolling on the 6pm to 6am shift. Congratulations Officer Eaton and welcome to the Decatur PD!
