(1-22-26) Russell L. G. Knowles, a Willshire native and Parkway High School graduate, has been elevated to partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms, with reported revenues nearing $388 million.

Knowles focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, real estate, municipal regulations, and a broad range of general corporate matters. He represents both public and private clients, working with organizations of all sizes across a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Knowles worked for the City of Dayton, Ohio, where he focused on the Department of Economic Development. In that role, he advised the city on numerous PACE, TIF, and CRA matters, and negotiated and drafted real estate purchase and sale agreements, professional services agreements, and ordinances and resolutions necessary for the city’s daily operations. His experience in the public sector allows him to provide unique insight and practical guidance to his private-sector clients.

As a newly promoted partner, Knowles shared his vision for expanding his municipal law practice across Ohio, while also emphasizing the growing importance of succession planning for local companies.

A graduate of Parkway High School, Knowles credits his upbringing in the Village of Willshire with instilling the work ethic and values that continue to guide his career. He earned his undergraduate degree from Xavier University and his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law.

Knowles’ promotion reflects Dinsmore’s continued investment in leadership and client service, while also serving as a point of pride for the Willshire and Parkway communities. His advancement highlights how strong local roots can lead to success on a statewide and national stage. Russell currently resides in Kettering, Ohio with his wife Alexandra and daughter Daphne.
