(1-21-26) Parkway Local Schools Board of Education voted Monday night to not renew Treasurer Debbie Pierce’s contract when it expires on July 31, 2026 and placed Pierce her on paid administrative leave effective February 1, 2026.
Pierce has been at Parkway as far back as 2012.

To maintain continuity of the district’s financial operations, The board appointed Kurt Wendell as interim treasurer and Sherry Schaefer as interim assistant treasurer. Both appointments take effect February 1, 2026.
The board’s decision reflects its responsibility to act in the best interest of the district and added the board appreciates Pierce’s service and thanked her for her contributions.
Jon Pyles, who is listed on Parkway Schools website,as Parkway’s Assistant Treasurer, is not a part of the new arrangement.
