PRESS RELEASE
On January 15, 2026 at approximately 7:57 AM Darke County Deputies, along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue and Arcanum Rescue, were dispatched to the intersection of US Route 127 and State Route 503 in reference to a two-vehicle injury crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2021 Jeep Renegade, driven by Mary Wood, 75, of Greenville, was stopped westbound on State Route 503 at the posted stop sign. Wood failed to yield the right-of-way to a southbound gold 2002 Buick CX, driven by Holly Daughtery, 67, of Greenville. Both vehicles collided, with the Jeep coming to rest on the roadway and the Buick traveled off the right side of the roadway coming to a rest in the ditch.
Wood and Daughtery were both transported to Wayne HealthCare with minor injuries.
Wood was issued a citation for failure to yield after a clearly marked stop sign.
