We love spotlighting our Chamber members and sharing the heart behind their businesses. Here’s a closer look at what makes Grandma’s Favorites so special .

What inspired you to start your business in Jay County, and what makes your business unique?

Grandma’s Favorites was inspired by a love for good food and sharing it with others. After sitting down to talk about the kinds of foods they wanted to offer—and noticing what was missing in Jay County—the opportunity felt just right. When the little drive-thru on Commerce Street became available, it was the perfect chance to share their food and baked goods with the community.

What makes them unique?

This business wasn’t started to become millionaires—it was created out of pride, passion, and a desire to offer a warm, welcoming place for everyone. From family-inspired recipes to select ingredients sourced from their own farm, every visit is meant to feel like a little piece of home.

What products or services do you offer, and who is your ideal customer?

Their menu is centered around homemade comfort foods like biscuits and gravy, breakfast bowls, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, and fresh bakery items such as scones, pies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and cheesecakes.

They focus on quality meals and friendly service. Their ideal customers are anyone who loves a good homemade meal with a smile—from elderly neighbors to young families and everyone in between.

What are some goals or hopes you have for your business in the next year?

In the coming year, Grandma’s Favorites hopes to expand their hours and increase the variety of foods and baked goods they offer. They’re also excited about the possibility of hosting events and creating more opportunities for people to gather, connect, and enjoy what they have to offer.

❓ How do you plan to get involved in the local community or collaborate with other local businesses?

They’ve already begun building strong relationships by collaborating with Mrs. P’s Kitchen for coffee and sourcing meat from 4 West Farms, LLC. Looking ahead, they plan to continue partnering with other local businesses and individuals and hope to host events that bring the community together.

What’s one fun or surprising fact about your business that people might not know?

A fun surprise—Grandma’s Favorites opened much sooner than planned! What started as a five-year idea turned into a reality in just over a month. When the opportunity came up, they jumped in and decided to start sharing their homemade food, family recipes, and welcoming space with the community as soon as possible.
