(1-6-26) Lima Memorial Health System welcomed Baby Hazel as the region’s first baby of 2026. Hazel made her debut on January 1 at 12:51 a.m. in the Family Birth Center, ringing in the New Year surrounded by care and compassion.
For the Helstad family, Hazel’s arrival is especially meaningful.

“Hazel is our miracle baby, after a long time of trying to conceive. It took a long time to get to this place, but we are so happy and grateful that it worked out after all this time.”
Coty expressed gratitude for the care they received at Lima Memorial, saying-
“The staff here has done a phenomenal job. We’ve been wonderfully cared for here. Staff has been a step ahead of us through this whole process. Never needed to ask questions, because the information had already been provided. We have had Great Care here.”
